Nicole Logan-Park
GIS Asset Management Engineer
Biography
I work in the British Antarctic Survey Estates office alongside the Head of Estates, Head of Antarctic Buildings and Services, Facilities Engineers for the BAS Cambridge Site and Antarctic Stations; Rothera, Halley Signy (South Orkney), Bird Island and King Edward Point (South Georgia). Together we manage and maintain the BAS Estates Infrastructure.
To meet the end-users operational requirements, I work closely with the Facilities Engineers to provide technical oversight, guidance, and supervision of the maintenance programme on all stations.
BAS is updating its Asset Management capabilities as part of an extensive Antarctic Infrastructure Modernisation Program (AIMP) at their polar station and in the UK. I am the Estate Team lead for coordinating the development of the new Asset Registers, Planning, Implementation, and management of the Maintenance Management Programme for all stations. This also entails reviewing the estate operating processes and procedures in line with ISO9001, ISO14001, HASAWA, PUWER and COSHH.
In addition, I am charged with defining and supporting the Asset Information Requirements (AIR) processes and procedures for the Antarctic Infrastructure Modernisation Program (AIMP).
I represent the Estates Team as an Innovation Champion providing a link between the Directorate for Innovation and our team. The aim is to identify internal and external opportunities to help improve Estate Management capabilities that best meet the end-user requirements across BAS.
