Edward Ward
BAS Honorary Researcher
Biography
Edward completed his PhD at Durham University and is currently a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in the Laser Analytics Group at the University of Cambridge. His work focuses on combining artificial intelligence and optical microscopy and applying these methods to study the mechanisms behind protein mis-folding in neurodegenerative diseases.
At the British Antarctic Survey, Edward is part of an ongoing collaboration with Prof. Melody Clark, using optical super-resolution microscopy to understand how Antarctic fish species solve the problem of protein mis-folding and aggregation at sub-zero temperatures.
