David Wilby
Research Software Engineer
Biography
David is a Research Software Engineer (RSE) in the Digital Innovation Team.
Prior to joining BAS in January 2024, he was a Senior RSE in the University of Sheffield RSE team since 2019, taking an interest in improving research reproducibility, sustainability and accountability though collaboration and training.
He is also a 2022 fellow of the Software Sustainability Institute, with an interest in developing training and guidance for reproducible research in MATLAB.
Previously to becoming an RSE, he undertook a PhD and two postdoctoral research positions at the University of Bristol and Lund University in visual sensory biology using computational and laboratory methods from optical physics and engineering.
