Pint of Science – Big Data and Scientific Research

As part of the Pint of Science Festival British Antarctic Survey’s Scott Hosking, is one of three speakers discussing Big Data and scientific research. Booking is required for this event.
On 14th May between 19:00 and 21:30 join speakers Lauren Clarke, Scott Hosking and James Fergusson to find out more about how Big Data is revolutionising scientific research. They will discuss topics including:
- The Human Cell Atlas – How technology could help to map all cells in the human body.
- Climate Prediction in the Big Data Era – How Machine learning can help unlock the potential within the vast volumes of environmental data available.
- Cosomology and Big Data – How cosmology has evolved into a data driven science and how it will have to change in the future.
