Icehack: exploring polar data
With events from astronomy to zoology, the 2016 Cambridge Science Festival (7 – 20 March) welcomes everyone to explore and discuss science.
Test your coding skills on data collected from some of the most inaccessible regions on Earth. The data collections of the British Antarctic Survey reflect the breadth of its science and operations from monitoring upper atmospherics to bathymetric mapping of the ocean floor. Staff from BAS science and data teams will be on hand to supply selected datasets, along with ideas and tips for data discovery and visualisation. Please bring along a laptop. We will have everything set up for you, so there is nothing else you need to bring unless you want to work in a specific environment or use specific software.
The winner will receive BAS-related goodies and promotion on the BAS website.
This is a free event with nibbles and soft drinks provided.
